The Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Belonging Committee (JEDB) works to ensure equitable access and inclusion in Community Farmland Trust (CFLT)’s operations. The goal is to increase access and inclusion to opportunities and resources for all members of the local farming community.
The JEDB Committee strives to be composed of CFLT staff, board members, lessees, and volunteers who share a common interest in cultivating the vision where justice, equity, diversity, and belonging are demonstrated in everything we do.

Land Acknowledgement for
Community Farm Land Trust's Farmland
The Community Farm Land Trust (CFLT) recognizes that the Trust’s farmlands are on traditional territories of the Coast Salish Tribes. These tribes have been stewarding the prairies, forests, and waterways since time immemorial. CFLT acknowledges that these lands were taken under duress by white settlers. In spite of colonization and unacceptable treaty terms from the U.S. government, the Coast Salish people are resilient, determined, and unified in their efforts to preserve their cultures, traditions, and resources. CFLT benefits from the legacy of traditional territories taken by settlers. We acknowledge the tension between working to acquire these traditional territories and preserving farmland. Land acknowledgements are an important but limited tool. CFLT is committed to continuing to build relationships with and supporting the work of the tribes whose lands we occupy. We are grateful for the tribes’ stewardship of this land, and look forward to creating a resilient, shared future together. |
