We are joining 75 other non-profits from Thurston, Lewis and Mason counties for The
Community Foundation of South Puget Sound's Give Local 2018 Incentive Campaign.
During this campaign, donors to 'give where they live' and support local non-profits in their
community.
Why should you give during this campaign?
The simplest and easiest reason is that you can leverage your donation and stretch your
money further because the Incentive Fund will proportionally increases the value of every
dollar donated. For example, if a non-profit organization receives 5 percent of the total
donations during Give Local, that same non-profit receives 5 percent of the $100,000
Incentive Fund.

Building Our Foundation
Our community of donors, supporters and farmers help build the rich nutrients in our
soil that will sustain the foundation of our organization over the course of the next year
and years to come. We need your help to renew our commitment to create more
affordable land access for farmers in Thurston, Manson and Lewis Counties. SSCFLT
stands at a crucial moment in our development history withthe new hire of our
first, Executive Director, Patrick Rofe. The money raised in thiscampaign will go towards
our general operating budget so that Patrick can tend toour seedlings and build a
strong foundation and framework that will guide our future farmland preservation in
the community. Donate to SSCFLT's Give Local Campaign and enrich the soil to
help us create strong roots in our community and move us through our next
season of growth.

It's been inspiring to see how our Farmland Trust has grown over the years. I look forward to the story of the next farm. Who will be the farmers? And what ownership model will make this happen? Whoever they are and whatever it is, the Farmland Trust is a gift to all of us. I personally am not a foodie - no cooking or gardening for me. But I'm very interested in protecting open spaces and encouraging the way of life that supports small farms. I want to live in a community, among people who love the land and are willing to work hard so that we all benefit. And I'm so glad that there are opportunities to keep these creative people here in Thurston County. CFLT is doing that and I am for one grateful. |
